ABOUT ME
I’ve worked as a publicist within the classical music industry for over thirty years. I use my extensive experience in communications and strong journalist contact base to put together effective campaigns and maximise coverage for my clients across a wide range of classical, arts and national media.
Following an English and Music degree at the University of Keele and valuable training with a top London consumer PR consultancy, I became Assistant to the Press Officer at The Royal Opera and later, Acting Press Officer. I then spent three years as Press Manager at record label Philips Classics, working on album releases by major artists such as Alfred Brendel, Valery Gergiev, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Jessye Norman, Mitsuko Uchida. After that I took on the role of Press Officer at The London Philharmonic, which included corporate PR and promotion of the orchestra’s education and outreach work.
In 1996 I became an independent PR consultant. For eighteen years my major client was NVC Arts, producer of Warner Music’s classical music and arts audio-visual titles. During my time with the company I promoted their huge range of arts product, including opera, classical music, dance, world music, jazz, pop, arts documentaries and tv titles.
I currently work with a small number of clients, including Bampton Classical Opera and Divine Art Recordings Group. I also take on regular projects for event cinema content provider/distributor More2Screen, particularly productions by Matthew Bourne/New Adventures. Past clients have included SOMM Recordings, CinemaLive, Hampstead Garden Opera, Warner Classics, NVC Arts, and BBC Worldwide.
